What if it’s not about the big moments in our lives?

May 29, 2025

What if it’s about the small moments? The moments where you catch the sunrise early morning, where you feel the breeze touching your face, the sound of the ocean that goes through your ears, or a deep hug you had with your partner, sibling, friend, or parent. The last kiss you had and the sensation of your lips touching the lips of the other, the deep look into someone’s eyes and the moment when you laugh so hard that your belly starts to hurt. What if that’s what it’s all about?

It sounds quite strange to tell our mind that it’s maybe not about the big achievements, like getting the new position as a manager, earning a certain amount of money, or having your dream body, because all of this doesn’t matter when we can’t share it with anyone and when we feel so stressed and restless that we aren’t even able to enjoy the little things in our life anymore.

Then in the end of the day, who cares about our bank account? Who cares what kind of job title we have? The question is, do you really feel more happy and fulfilled because of that, or is it just another way to make yourself feel better and to try to prove to yourself that you are worthy and enough? It’s a hard question, and not many of us want to face it, because this would mean that we start to question our whole belief system and what we learned about being enough. But I guess it’s the beginning of figuring out who we truly are and what we really want in life, without anyone’s opinion or expectation, because in the end of the day, it’s only you that goes to bed with all the decisions and feelings.

You have to deal with it, and you can’t run away from yourself, so you better start to take care of yourself now—for you.
